The Supernatural fandom was the 3rd largest on Archive of Our Own, a popular fanfiction site, as of early 2022, and contains one of the most written ships (a romantic pairing of characters) of any fandom across most sites. The Supernatural fandom revolutionized the world of fan fiction after the first known Omegaverse fanfic was published. Omegaverse became a very popular trope/story type within fanfictions across the board, with it's own unique advantages, angles, and tropes. It would not be uncommon to hear someone say that they exclusively read (or explicitly avoid!) "Omegaverse fics".
